basenordic AS was established in 2016 with the idea of providing a unique combination of language courses, translations and interpretations with IT consultancy services.
We have established Norwegian courses for Czechs and Slovaks living in Oslo and surroundings, where the teaching happens in Czech or Slovak. In addition, we provide various translation services. Our core language focus is on the Norwegian, Czech, German and English languages.
Our teacher, Lenka Sommerseth, have experiences with both classroom and private teaching. She has a vast experience with translations, both simultaneous interpretations as well as translating various written documents. Lenka holds a Master’s degree in German from Palacky University in Olomouc in the Czech Republic and Bachelor degree in Norwegian from Masaryk University in Brno in the Czech Republic. She also completed Norskprøve trinn 4, Bergenstesten and holds a First Certificate in English by Cambridge English Language Assessment.
As a complement to language offerings, basenordic AS provides IT consultancy services with a primary focus on open source based software as well as hardware and cloud service based investments.
David Sommerseth takes care of the IT consultancy tasks. He started for real within the open source software industry in 2008 where he worked in Red Hat until basenordic AS was founded 8 years later. Currently, his main involvement is with OpenVPN Inc, where he is a deeply involved within the OpenVPN open source community. All since the beginning of his professional career in 1998, David has been involved in numerous projects – all with a solid base on the Linux platform. He has a vast experience in Linux system administration, computer and network security, programming in various languages, PostgreSQL and MySQL, to mention a few areas of his expertise.
